Hanson, Ann

Hanson, Ann (b. Coffin)

(1921– ) art historian; born in Kinston, N.C. She studied at the University of Southern California (B.F.A. 1943), the University of North Carolina (M.A. 1951), and Bryn Mawr College (Ph.D. 1962). She was a consultant and director for several museums and taught at various institutions, notably at Yale (1970). She specialized in 19th-century French paintings, and 15th-century Italian sculpture.
