Location:Pacific coast in San Luis Obispo County, California.
Facilities:Visitor center, wildlife viewing stations, trails, auto tour route.

Special Features:Refuge protects part of California's Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes complex, the largest, most bio-diverse, coastal dune-lagoon ecosystem on earth. The dunes system includes 1,400 known species of birds, plants, and animals, and the highest sand dunes on the Pacific coast.
Habitats: 2,550 acres of coastal dunes.
Access: Open year round.
Wild life: Endangered and threatened species are California least tern, California red-legged frog, and Western snowy plover. Other wildlife include deer, black bear, bobcat, mountain lion (rarely), and migratory birds including the endangered California brown pelican.
