Iasachnaia
Iasachnaia
(in its upper course, Pravaia lasachnaia), a river in Magadan Oblast and the Yakut ASSR; a left tributary of the Kolyma. The lasachnaia measures 490 km in length and drains an area of 35,900 sq km. It rises in the eastern spurs of the Cherskii Range. It flows from the mountains across the Kolyma Lowland and breaks into channels in its lower course. The river is fed by snow and rain. It freezes over in October, and the ice breaks up in late May or early June. The Iasachnaia’s principal left tributaries are the Omulevka, Olguia, Rassokha, and Goniukha. The pier of Zyrianka is at its mouth.
