Guest WorkerThe holder of an H1-B visa, which gives one permission to live and work the United States for three years, renewable once. Guest workers must possess sufficient skills to perform the work for which they are hired (though there has been controversy as to what level of skill is required) and, if they quit or are fired, they must return home, find another job or apply for a change in status. While the H1-B visa is not an immigrant visa, guest workers may apply for green cards.guest worker
