ilioinguinal nerve

A sensory nerve originating in the lumbar plexus and composed of axons from spinal cord segment L1. It runs with the spermatic cord (in males) or the round ligament (in females) through the internal inguinal ring to the skin of the scrotum or labium majus. It innervates the skin of the proximal and medial thigh and of the scrotum or labium majus. See also: nerve
