Graham System Graham System A health philosophy espoused by Sylvester Graham (1794–1851); the system advocated regular exercise, fresh air, weekly bathing (at a time when once yearly was the norm), sexual temperance and a drastic change in diet from the norm in the early 1800s (weighted towards meats and wine, which allegedly led to good health and prevented cholera) to emphasise grains, fruits and vegetables. |
