Iauza

a river in Moscow Oblast, RSFSR, mainly in the northeastern part of the city of Moscow; a left tributary of the Moskva River. The mouth of the Iauza is in the center of Moscow. The river measures 48 km in length and drains an area of 452 sq km. It rises in a swamp east of Mytishchi. In Moscow it has canals and locks. Water to regulate the level of the Iauza is brought from Khimki Reservoir via the Likhoborka Canal and the Likhoborka River.
