hard point hard pointThe points under the wings and fuselage to which external stores can be attached, usually via pylons or launchers. Each hard point may have a different load-carrying capacity. Some aircraft have hard points, generally for carrying air-to-air missiles, on top of the wings. This is not a very common feature. The point at the wing tip where air-to-air missiles may be carried is not called a hard point. |
