This includes the red rockformations of Red Canyon in Dixie National Forest, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, theEscalante River, Calf Creek Canyon, and the Hogsback and 9,760-foot BoulderMountain. At Boulder visitors can get a firsthand look at life in aprehistoric Native American village at the Anasazi Indian Village Park. Continuing north from Boulder, the routecrosses the eastern flank of Boulder Mountain with spectacular views ofCapitol Reef National Park, the Henry Mountains, Circle Cliffs, andNavajo Mountain on the far side of Lake Powell. On a clear daytravelers can see more than 100 miles into Colorado and Arizona.
Legth: 124 miles. Start/Endpoint: Byway connects Bryce Canyon National Park to Capitol Reef National Park. From west to east, it begins at the junction of US 89 and SR 12, 7 miles south of Panguitch and 8 milesnorth of Hatch in Garfield County. Byway ends at the junction of SR 12 and SR 24, just east of Torrey, inWayne County. Time to Allow: 3 hours. Designation/Year: All-American Road (2002).
