Granger, David Arthur,

1945–, Guyanese political leader and military officer, grad. Univ. of Guyana. He served in the Guyanese army (1965–92), rising to the rank of brigadier and becoming commander of the Guyana Defense Force (1979–90) and national security adviser (1990–92). A member of A Partnership for National Unity, he served as leader of the opposition (2012–15) in the National Assembly. In 2015 Granger was elected president, heading a coalition government with the Alliance for Change. Granger founded the Guyana Review and has published numerous articles on military and security issues.
