Alternative medicineA permutation of acupressure developed in the 1950s by Professor T Hoshino, which uses 250 pressure points located directly over the muscles, tendons and ligaments to evaluate biomechanical function and identify local musculoskeletal defects. Hoshino therapy has been used to treat bursitis, fatigue, headache, low back pain, muscle pain, nausea, numbness, sciatica, slipped (vertebral) disk, tendinitis and vertigo; it is complemented by Hoshino exercises.
