ADAMTSca20

An ADAMTSs family enzyme encoded by ADAMTS20 on chromosome 12q12 which is an orthologue of GON-1, an ADAMTS protease required for gonadal morphogenesis in Caenorhabditis elegans. ADAMTS20 is expressed in epithelial cells of the breast, lung and testis, and overexpressed in some malignancies of the brain, colon, and breast. ADAMTS20 mutations have linked to defective melanoblast development. ADAMTS20 may play a role in normal and pathological tissue-remodelling.
