Gulubov, Zhivko Spasov

Born June 22, 1908, in Plovdiv. Bulgarian physical geographer. Corresponding member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (1948). Professor at Sofia State University (since 1950) and director of the Geographical Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (since 1952).

Gulubov’s main works are Characteristics of the Relief in Geomorphological Research (1951), Physical Geography of Bulgaria (1956; 2nd ed., 1962, coauthor; Russian translation, 1960), and Geography of Bulgaria (vol. 2, 1961; vol. 1, 1965, coauthor).
