Gum Bands
Gum Bands
sticky rings that are covered with caterpillar gum and placed around the trunks of trees to catch and destroy insect pests. The gum is applied in a layer 4–5 cm wide on heavy strips of paper or directly on the tree trunks. Gum bands are used to prevent caterpillars of the order Lepidoptera, beetles, and other harmful insects from crawling from the ground onto fruit trees and grapevines.
