Location:Eastern Idaho, 18 miles north of Ashton on US 20.
Facilities:Yurts, rental cabins (4-bedroom log home and 3-bedroom cabin, bothfully furnished), dormitory facility with meeting room and kitchen (forgroups of 15-40), showers, restrooms, trails, picnic area, warminghut for skiers, historic buildings.
Activities:Fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, cross-countryskiing, wildlife viewing, guided nature walks, historic building tours.
Special Features:Park lies within an 11,000-acre wildlife refuge in the greaterYellowstone ecosystem. Moose, elk, and sandhill cranes are common here,as is North America's largest waterfowl, the trumpeter swan. HenrysFork, which meanders through the park, is considered one of the bestfly-fishing streams in the country. From 1902to 1977 the park acreage was owned by Union Pacific Railroadinvestors and served as a cattle ranch and private retreat of theHarriman and Guggenheim families. Tours of the railroad ranch buildingsare available during the summer months.

The park's majorfacilities include: Lakes Welch, Sebago,Tiorati, andSilver Mine, the Anthony Wayne Recreation Area, Sebago Cabins, andBeaver Pond Campgrounds. The largest of Harriman's beaches is at LakeWelch, a man-made lake in the wooded hills of the Ramapo Mountains.
