Harris, Rollin Arthur Harris, Rollin Arthur(1863–1918) oceanographer; born in Randolph, N.Y. He spent his career (1890–1918) with the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey. He wrote extensively on ocean (especially Arctic) tides and hydrodynamics, and invented instruments pertinent to his research. |
