Gusinaia Zemlia

a peninsula on the western shore of the southern island of Novaia Zemlia. Its northern and southern shores are deeply indented, but the western shore is more even. The vegetation is of an arctic tundra type. There are many lakes. During the molting season flocks of thousands of geese gather near the lakes. The peninsula is also one of the best places for pasturing reindeer.
