Established: 1934. Description:Promotes international understanding through its 80 low-cost, dormitorystyle youth hostels throughout the United States and througheducational, cultural, and recreational travel programs. A member ofthe International Youth Hostel Federation, which operates nearly 4,000hostels in 60 countries. Members: 3 million Hostelling International members worldwide. Dues: $28/year for members age 18-54 (membership is free to youth under age 18 and $18/year for members over age 54).
