(1) A descriptive term for the scalloped regenerative nodules separated by broad bands of fibrosis, typical of the macronodular cirrhosis of well-advanced haemochromatosis
(2) A descriptive term for irregularly spiculated RBCs—drepanocytes—due to polymerization of ‘sickling’ haemoglobins—e.g., Hb C, D and S, sickle-trait Hb aka HbAS, S-thalassemia, Hb C-Harlem, HbS-Memphis when RBCs are exposed to low-O2 environments
