Holman, Eugene

(1895–1962) oil executive; born in San Angelo, Texas. Trained as a geologist, he spent his career in the oil industry, and after 1919 he rose through the ranks of Standard Oil Company of New Jersey. As president (1944–60) and chairman and CEO (1954–60) he launched Standard Oil (later Exxon) as a major player in the Middle East by buying a share of the Saudi Arabian oil fields.
