Host Liability Host LiabilityThe legal liability of a person or company that serves alcohol to a guest for any negative consequences of the consumption of alcohol. For example, in some jurisdictions, if a restaurant serves too many drinks to a patron and that patron kills a motorist in a car accident on the drive home, the restaurant may be held legally responsible. In some other jurisdictions, host liability only applies to persons or companies serving alcohol to underage persons. |
