hindpelvis

hind·pel·vis

(hīnd-pel'vis), The portion of the pelvis (pelvic cavity) located posterior to a line defining the maximum transverse diameter of the superior pelvic aperture (inlet); most often the hindpelvis has a smaller capacity than the forepelvis, being much smaller in an android pelvis, and is more variable in shape due to variation in the prominence of the sacral vertebral bodies.
