Herzog, Thomas

(1941–)German architect from Munich known for his focus on climate and energy use through the use of technologically advanced architectural skins. He established the firm Herzog + Partners in 1983. Perhaps best known for the conversion of the giant Bankside Power Station in London to the new home of the Tate Modern. In 2001, the firm of Herzog & de Meuron was awarded the Pritzker Prize.
