adaptive behavior scale a·dap·tive behavior scale (ə-dăp′tĭv)n. A series of tests used to quantify the ability of mentally retarded and developmentally delayed individuals to live independently. The tests assess personal self-sufficiency, as in eating and dressing, community self-sufficiency, as in shopping and communicating, and personal and social responsibility, as in job performance and the use of leisure time. |
