Heterochromous Photometry

Heterochromous Photometry

the subdivision of photometry that deals with the measurement methods for multicolored (heterochromous) radiations. Differences in the color of the radiation types being compared lead to increased visual photometric errors, which may be overcome with the aid of the so-called flicker photometer. Polychromic radiations may also be compared using a photocell if, by a specially selected light filter, the spectral sensitivity of the detector is modified to correspond to the shape of the sensitivity curve of a normal human eye.
