Established: Authorized on August 28, 1965.
Location:One mile west of Ganado, Arizona, and 55 miles northwest of Gallup, New Mexico. Accessible via AZ 264 from the east and west and by US 191 from the north and south.
Facilities:Picnic area, rest rooms (é), groceries, visitor center (é), museum/exhibit, self-guided tour/trail.
Activities:Guided tour.
Special Features:Established in 1878, Hubbell Trading Post is the oldest continuously operating trading post in the Navajo Nation. It was first established by John Lorenzo Hubbell who, alone or together with his two sons, owned 30 trading posts, wholesale houses, several ranches and farms, business properties, and stage and freight lines. The trading post here has served as a bridge between cultures for generations.
