Special Features:Situated in the east-central part of the Columbia Plateau, forests include portions of Idaho's most scenic mountain ranges: the Selkirk, Cabinet, Coeur d'Alene, and Bitterroot mountains. Points of interest include Emerald Creek Garnet Area, where visitors can dig for Idaho's state gem, and Lookout Pass Ski and Recreation Area.
