indolent malignancy

A lesion which is malignant by one or more criteria (cytological, genetic, histopathological or other), but which lacks, at the time of assessment, the classic criterion defining a malignant lesion: metastasis.
Examples
Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, follicular lymphoma, lymphomatoid papulosis, early mycosis fungoides, pagetoid reticulosis (Woringer-Kolopp disease), papillary carcinoma of thyroid, early prostate cancer.
