释义 | Hatch, Carl A.Hatch, Carl A.(1889–1963) U.S. senator; born in Kirwin, Kans. A lawyer in Mexico, he went to the U.S. Senate (Dem., N.M.; 1933–49). He was best known as the author of the Hatch Acts of 1939 and 1940, which curtail the political activities of federal employees in national elections. A supporter of farm and labor legislation and land reclamation projects, he also supported President Truman on such international policies as the Marshall Plan. On leaving the Senate he served as a federal judge in Mexico (1949–63). |
