hypocytosis hy·po·cy·to·sis (hī'pō-sī-tō'sis), Varying degrees of abnormally low numbers of erythrocytes and leukocytes and other formed elements of the blood; in some instances, the term is also used to indicate a paucity of component cells of any tissue.
