A clinical test used to identify a defect in the articular cartilage of the hip.Technique
The patient begins in a supine position. The examiner fully flexes the patient's hip and knee and applies downward pressure along the femoral shaft, repeatedly externally and internally rotating the hip with multiple angles of flexion.
Positive test
Pain or reproduction of symptoms at the hip implies a defect in the articular cartilage of the femur or acetabulum.
