Hewlett, Maurice Henry

(hyo͞o`ĭt), 1861–1923, English novelist, essayist, and poet. He is best known for his historical romances, such as The Forest Lovers (1898; based on MaloryMalory, Sir Thomas
, d. 1471, English author of Morte d'Arthur. It is almost certain that he was Sir Thomas Malory of Newbold Revell, Warwickshire. Knighted in 1442, he served in the parliament of 1445.
