ideal gas law
ideal gas lawn. A physical law describing the relationship of the measurable properties of an ideal gas, where P (pressure) × V (volume) = n (number of moles) × R (the gas constant) × T (temperature in Kelvin). It is derived from a combination of the gas laws of Boyle, Charles, and Avogadro. Also called universal gas law.ideal gas law
ideal gas law[ī′dēl ′gas ‚lȯ] (thermodynamics) The equation of state of an ideal gas which is a good approximation to real gases at sufficiently high temperatures and low pressures; that is, PV = RT, where P is the pressure, V is the volume per mole of gas, T is the temperature, and R is the gas constant. |
