hypomelanosis

(hi?po-mel-an-o'sis) One of several disorders of melanin pigmentation in which melanin in the epidermis is decreased or absent. It may be caused by albinism, chronic protein deficiency, burns, trauma, or vitiligo. See: hypermelanosis
