Index of Fame Index of FameIn doing research for her book American Architects and the Mechanics of Fame, (1991), author Roxanne Kuter Williamson studied more than 600 American architects who have earned a name in history. Her criteria for “fame” were geared toward those deemed important enough to be included in history textbooks. The Index of Fame was compiled from the indexes of two dozen major architectural histories and four encyclopedias. The number of times the name appeared was put into a matrix, and each architect was then given a specific place in the index. |
