A generalized itchy dermatopathy caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa acquired in communal hot tubs and whirlpools.

hot tub folliculitis

An inflammation of the hair follicles caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa, occurring after exposure to contaminated bath, spa, or swimming pool water. The infection resolves without treatment in about 14 days. Synonym: Pseudomonas folliculitis; splash rash. See also: folliculitis
