[grē·fə′lȯid·ē·ə] (invertebrate zoology) A superfamily of primarily marine, free-living nematodes in the order Desmoscolecida, distinguished by a prominent nonencrusted annulation that bears a ring of elongate spines or short scales, and large subdorsal and subventral tubular setae along the body.
