Berislav

a city and the administrative center of Berislav Raion, Kherson Oblast, Ukrainian SSR; a harbor on the Kakhovka Reservoir. Berislav is located 12 km from the Kazatskaia railroad station. Population, 14,000 (1969). Berislav produces machinery, building materials, butter, and cheese. It has a pedagogical and a medical school. Berislav was founded in the 15th century.
