Indian Runners

a breed of egg-laying ducks developed in India. A characteristic feature is their almost vertical body carriage. They have a narrow and elongated body, a small head, an orange, wedge-shaped bill, a long neck, and orange-red legs. The plumage is white and mottled. They are able to run swiftly without swaying (hence the breed’s name). About 200 eggs are laid a year, with a maximum of 365. The drakes weight 2 kg; the ducks, 1.8 kg; and the egg, 70-80 g.
