Psychiatry A type of panic disorder that most commonly occurs in ♀–ratio, 2-4:1, affecting 2-6% of ♀ ages 18–64; HBS is characterized by agoraphobia, difficulty in functioning in public, generalized anxiety, cardiovascular symptoms–eg, chest pain, tachycardia, arrhythmia, GI distress, headache, vertigo, syncope and paresthesiae.
