Green code

A requirement for new construction, it is intended to serve as a model, enforceable building code in contrast to voluntary rating systems such as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). The International Codes Commission (ICC) is the primary organization behind the code. I-Codes of various kinds have been adopted in all 50 states and many federal agencies. It is a baseline mandatory building code and will affect the architectural profession.
