Induction Compass.A form of navigation instrument that gets its directional reference from the lines of the magnetic flux of the earth cutting across the windings of a flux valve mounted in the aircraft. The output signal of the flux valve is smoothed with gyros to produce a signal for heading indicators such as a radio magnetic indicator (RMI).
