Induction Regulator
induction regulator
[in′dək·shən ′reg·yə‚lād·ər]Induction Regulator
a device for smooth regulation of voltage. Induction regulators are built as single-phase or, more frequently, three-phase, braked asynchronous machines. Changes in voltage are achieved by the rotor turning with respect to the stator. Since the 1950’s, the use of the device has practically been abandoned.
