Beloomut
urban-type settlement in Lukhovitsy Raion, Moscow Oblast, RSFSR. Located 7 km from the Fruktovaia railroad station (160 km southeast of Moscow). Has a dock on the right bank of the Oka River. Population, 10,000 (1969). Beloomut has clothing and leather goods factories as well as a peat briquette plant. Here, until the middle of the 19th century, was located the estate of the Revolutionary Democrat N. P. Ogarev, who liberated his serfs 15 years before the Peasant Reform of 1861.
