Size: 14,004 acres.
Established: Declared a national historic landmark in 1974. Preservation easements accepted for nearly half the area in the district on December 12, 1977.
Location:The district is located 1.5 miles north of I-64, on US 15 from exit 136, Zion Crossroads. Itis 6.5 miles long and 4.5 miles wide, roughly bounded by US 15, VA 22,and VA 613 in the western end of Louisa County, Virginia.
Facilities:There are no National Park Service facilities or other public facilities in the district.
Activities:The rural cultural landscape of farms and houses can be viewed from the many public roads throughout thedistrict.
Special Features:This portion of Louisa County in Virginia's Piedmont is noted for its concentration of fine rural manor houses and related buildings in an unmarred landscape, representing many generations of agricultural, architectural, and social history.
