(hyū'măn kal'ŏr-im'ĕ-tĕr) A device to measure the heat output of the human body during various levels of physical exertion. It consists of a chamber with closed air circulation and a means of comparing the temperature of water entering a coil completely surrounding the subject with the temperature of water leaving the coil.
