Greenwood, Arthur Herbert

(1880–1963) U.S. representative; born in Plainville, Ind. A lawyer and prosecuting attorney (1916–18), he served in the U.S. House of Representatives (Dem., Ind.; 1923–39) becoming majority whip in 1937. Rejected by the voters, he went back to work as a lawyer, banker, and farmer.
