Grenfell, Bernard Pyne

(grĕn`fĕl), 1869–1926, English classical scholar and Egyptologist. With Arthur Surridge Hunt he discovered at Oxyrhynchus the Logia of Jesus (see Agrapha of JesusAgrapha of Jesus
[gr.,=unwritten], sayings attributed to Jesus not found in the canonical Gospels, but found elsewhere in the New Testament, the Apocryphal Gospels, the early Fathers, and the Qur'an.
