释义 | Hague ConventionHague Conventionan international convention adopted at The Hague in Holland. There have been a number of these, and lawyers often by way of shorthand refer to a ‘Hague Convention’. Notable are the Hague Conventions on the conduct of hostilities. However, there are a whole connected series arising out of The Hague Conference on Private International Law, an intergovernmental organization whose statute came into force in July 1955. The purpose of the organization is ‘to work for the progressive unification of the rules of private international law’. The method employed to achieve this is by way of a ‘Hague Convention’. To date there are many such conventions on subjects relating to private international law. One of the most well-known Hague Conventions is that on Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction 1980. This convention has been incorporated into UK law. |
