Heinecken, Robert

(1931– ) photographer, teacher; born in Denver, Colo. An instructor at the Univirsity of California: Los Angeles (1960), he taught drawing and printmaking before introducing photography into the curriculum in the mid-1960s. He then began combining photography with 3 dimensional surfaces to create photo-sculptural collages. He has taught advanced workshops at the George Eastman House, the Arts Institute, and Howard University while continuing to experiment with combining photography and other media.
